On Friday, September 2, 2005, my beloved father, William K. Nasser, passed away. Known as the "Father of Cardiology", my Dad was an internationally acclaimed physician and founder of the nation's largest non-academic cardiology practice. To me, however, he was simply my father, whom I adored and loved deeply. Still, there was no denying the mark my father left on this world. Not only was he the world's longest-living survivor of open-heart valve surgery, he went on to survive of total of THREE open-heart surgeries, a liver transplant, and a near-fatal boating accident in the Atlantic Ocean. My father's life story was chronicled in a biography he wrote, which raised more than $500,000 for his favorite charities. Yet in spite of all his accomplishments, my father was first and foremost a family man. He was not perfect, of course, but his essence certainly was. Me, his loving daughter. I miss you Dad.
With love from your #1 daughter,
